Galatians 2:5, “To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.”
Human interference has always been a hindrance in the true worship of God.
God, who had all the power to compel the world to serve Him chose not to follow that path and gave all perfect liberty that they might render Him their service of love.
The history of the world is tainted with records of enforced worship by ‘Christian’ institutions. First it was the Roman church, then the apostate Protestants, after forgetting why they were protestant, sought to enact and enforce laws that would compel men to worship according to their creeds.
As in the days of Moses God spoke several times asking for the freedom of His people, even now He speaks:
Exodus 7:16, “And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear.”
Exodus 8:1, “And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, let my people go, that they may serve me.”
Exodus 9:1, 13, “1 Then the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, let my people go, that they may serve me.
13 And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, let my people go, that they may serve me.”
The plain message from GOD to ALL men is: “… Let my people go, that they may serve me…”
Many do not serve GOD BECAUSE they are in bondage to other men. But GOD says: “… Let my people go, that they may serve me…”
Matthew 20:25,26, “25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, ye know that the princes of the gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;”
1 Corinthians 7:23, “Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.”
It is ONLY among the Gentiles where men exercise authority over other men.
It is ONLY Gentiles who allow men to exercise authority over them.
Are you a child of the Kingdom or a Gentile? You shall know them by their fruits.
Civil Government and Religion , By Alonzo T. Jones page 38.1, “But what condition of things can ever be conceived of among men that would justify any man in surrendering his right to believe? When he has surrendered his right to believe, he has virtually surrendered his right to think. When he surrenders his right to believe, he surrenders everything, and it is impossible for him ever to receive an equivalent; he has surrendered his very soul. Eternal life depends upon believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, and the man who surrenders his right to believe, surrenders eternal life. Says the scripture, “with the mind I myself serve the law of God.” [Romans 7:25] a man who surrenders his right to believe, surrenders God. CONSEQUENTLY, NO MAN, NO ASSOCIATION OR ORGANIZATION OF MEN, CAN EVER RIGHTLY ASK OF ANY MAN A SURRENDER OF HIS RIGHT TO BELIEVE. Every man has the right, so far as organizations of man are concerned, to believe as he pleases; and that right, so long as he is a Protestant, so long as he is a Christian, yes, so long as he is a man, he never can surrender, and he never will.”
